Quarantine Diary 11.1
(The final test - and good news)

18 September 2020

Today I had the final swab test for COVID-19 - following my initial (negative) test on day one.

If this test is also negative, I’ll be released from my hotel room on the 22nd.

Also, some good news to coincide with my arrival in Australia.

A while ago you may recall a blogpost about a statue of my dad’s war dog.

The statue of Caesar, the tracking dog which accompanied dad during the Vietnam War, was stolen from its spot near a train station in Sydney.

I think most people had given up on its recovery, assuming it was melted down for cash.

And re-casting the statue wasn’t an option - the artist had recently destroyed her original model.

Well, great news… the police in New South Wales have arrested two people over the incident. They have been charged with stealing and will appear in court later this month.

And better yet, the statue has been recovered intact.

The latest news is that Caesar will likely be returned to to his original home.

Well done to everyone involved.

And here’s a fascinating video I made about me dad and the real Caesar.
