Antarctica Day 2
The Drake Passage
Crossing from South America to Antarctica means navigating the fearsome Drake Passage.
There are two modes - Drake Shake and Drake Lake.
The "Drake Shake" means rough weather, big waves, and inevitable seasickness if you're prone to such things.
Or, if the weather gods are merciful, you may experience the "Drake Lake".
We were lucky on the way over.
Not quite a lake, but nothing too violent.
Nonetheless, many passengers were still confined to their rooms with seasickness.
Here's some timelapse from the crossing - you'll see the weather ranged from rain to brilliant blue skies.
In the next post, we reach Antarctica.
